Quick and Easy Kitchen Handle Transformation by Life with Holly (2)-min

Super Quick and Easy Kitchen Update

So I wrote a post a bit ago about how we painted our kitchen cupboard doors rather than replacing them (read it HERE). Here’s another super quick and easy kitchen update that will transform your kitchen on a budget.

I started to hate the boring silver handles that came with the kitchen so turned to good old Ebay, and found some gorgeous antique brass effect ones which would be much nicer and were super cheap!

After taking one of the handles off, I measured the distance between the holes and searched for some that were the same size. I counted up, ordered them and waited for their arrival. When they arrived however, I realised for some bizarre reason I hadn’t ordered enough! I’m not sure what I was thinking, but this meant I could only change a few so for a week or so we had a random mismatch of handles in the kitchen. Not a good look!

When the next batch arrived I happened to mention in passing to Mr R that I was going to use cup handles for the drawers. To my surprise, he declared that he HATED cup handles, he wanted more of the other ones and under no circumstances would we have cup handles. I’m not used to him showing such a strong opinion on matters involving the house and what things look like, so this took me aback. I duly ordered SOME MORE handles and am waiting for them to come. The Ebay seller will think I have had some mental breakdown!
It was really simple to unscrew the old handles and screw the new handles in place.

Anyways, I love the antique brass against the grey and it works well with the wood too. I’m now wondering whether to change the tap… Mr R says no. I’ve yet to see an antique brass tap I love though, so he’s winning this battle for now!

Sorry Wendy it was so long ago now I can’t remember! If you search on Ebay I’m sure you’ll find some you like the look of. Best of luck with your project!
