Mother’s Day never used to be a big deal in our house. I don’t have anything to do with my mother so it was never an issue until we had Holly. This year however, Holly is really into it and keeps secretly making things for me that I’m not allowed to see until the day itself. So far all I know is that there’s at least 3 cards for me and some chocolates which she’s had Mr R buy on her behalf. I think she’s waaaaayyyy more excited about it than I am though! It got me thinking though, and I put together this tutorial for how to decorate a cake with flowers for Mother’s Day, in case you wanted to try.
I then started with the chrysanthemums and placed these on the cake as my focal flowers. I left the stem of one of them a little longer to add some height to the “arrangement” (if you can call it that!).
