Our Neutral Bathroom – Going back to the lighter side!
Have you ever redecorated a space on a whim? Or something someone said? I’m in a group over on Facebook where people talk about their houses. Someone had asked for pictures of navy bathrooms to get inspiration, so I sent over one of mine. I then started thinking. I never actually wanted a navy bathroom. I wanted a super dark grey one. How did I end up with a navy bathroom? Did I even want a dark bathroom? It turns out I didn’t! Here’s our neutral bathroom now!
I had a word with Mr R about it, and he said he really liked the dark walls. I asked him what he’d think if it was lighter. He said he didn’t care. and I could do whatever I wanted. I took this as a definite green light to get the paint brush out! I had some leftover Purbeck Stone eggshell paint from when I did the kitchen units and island, so thought I’d use this so it didn’t cost anything. I had ordered it from Decorating Centre Online.
Tada! Our new, lighter, brighter, more neutral bathroom! I painted as much of the panelling as I could reach without getting embarrassingly wedged in behind the bath tub, but still have some paint left so if we ever do pull out the tub I can paint behind it.
Painting the panelled walls has made the room feel much more spacious. Now all I need is an opportunity to have a nice relaxing bath so I can enjoy all my hard work!
What do you think? Are you in team neutral or team dark and delicious?
