Easy Rustic Foliage Table Decoration Tutorial

Working in the wedding industry for my actual real life job, I see so many beautifully styled tables. I’m no stylist, however I have picked up a few ideas over the years. Here’s an easy rustic foliage table decoration tutorial! I made this table centrepiece using foliage I’d gathered from the garden, so it cost absolutely nothing. I added in a few candles, and voila! It’s a stunning rustic table centrepiece.

 

So, you will need some foliage. I used what I presume is a privet, some ivy and I had a few stems of clematis for a little colour. If you are foraging in your garden, cut the stems as long as you can. You can always trim them down when you’re making the centrepiece.

My table is rectangular, so I wanted a long arrangement down the centre. I started by placing a couple of the privet pieces in the centre of the table, with their stems together. These would be my centre with the rest of the arrangement coming out from this point. Sorry about the blurry pic!

I then added some longer stems of ivy, followed by some more privet, then more ivy and finally the clematis. It’s really simple and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. I kind of wound the ivy around the other stems, tweaking it until I was happy.

I made sure the ends of the arrangement had less foliage than the centre, but other than that it’s all random. Once the foliage was in place I added in some candles and set the table.

This would be great for a Christmas table display, and I’m thinking of doing something similar to this for our Christmas table. It’s quick, easy and free! As the stems aren’t in water or oasis they won’t last for very long, but as this only takes 5-10 minutes to put together it will last long enough for you to enjoy your meal.
