Purely because I’m trying to get us all out and about more this year, we went on a wander round Bradshaw, a small hamlet near Slaithwaite in Huddersfield. Unfortunately for us it didn’t quite go to plan. I had thought there was a pub there so we could park up, have a wander round and then go for a lunch afterwards. The road to the pub was full of potholes, one of which was so big and deep we were forced to turn the car around and find an alternative route. We parked up eventually. Unfortunately the pub was shut. Typical.
The weather was awful as well. It was misty and wet. We ended up walking through really boggy fields, some of which had mud so wet and deep Mr R had to carry Holly through them!
We managed a circular route of around 5km, and the scenery would have been incredible if the weather was better.
Thankfully we had brought Haribo with us to bribe Holly and keep her energy levels up while we walked. We also met a gorgeous pig and some horses – we always like to stroke a horse!
Yes, I’m THAT woman out with a camera, taking pictures of everything and anything that moves!
Despite the disgusting weather and mud, we had a lovely walk out over the tops. It’s definitely a walk we’ll do again, but maybe we’ll wait until the weather has warmed up a little. The views will be amazing on a clear day!
If you like this, why not check out some of our other walks? This was a circular wander round Bradshaw, Slaithwaite which we found using the Geocaching app – I can’t recommend this enough for a cheap or free family activity! We’ve been all over, and discovered so many new places.
