We went on a weekend wander to Upperthong in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. I dragged a reluctant Holly out for some fresh air and exercise, armed with snacks and drinks to keep her going. A hungry child is a whiny child in my experience!
We parked on a side street in Holmfirth and headed up the hill. There are some lovely footpaths up here, taking you though woodland, fields and into the village itself.
We made a new friend, and Holly wanted to take him home! I totally would if we had the space for him. He reminded me of my first pony Sean, who I used to keep on my gran’s smallholding. I spent a lot of my childhood there, and it was the BEST. It also means I have rubbish social skills, as I spent more time with the horses than with people…!
As usual we managed to fit in some geocaching, and some of the ones we found were so well camouflaged! Try looking for a fake rock in and amongst some other rocks – that’s the challenge!
Yep, that rock is a fake rock! I love how ingenious some of the geocaches are.
All in all we walked 2 miles, which isn’t too far. Just far enough to work up an appetite for a lovely Sunday lunch.
Thanks for stopping by! Read more about our geocaching wanderings here.
