Every year I say to myself this is the year I’ll be better organised. Not forgetting things, not missing people’s birthdays (sorry!) and not rushing around like a headless chicken because I need to go out to the Co-op for the fifty billionth time in a day because I need some more baking ingredients. It’s as though there’s not really enough room in my head for all the things I need to think about – work, Holly, house, garden, fitness, life admin – it’s an endless list.
To help me get organised with my work I found an amazing system called Dubsado. I’m not being paid for this, it’s not an ad for them – it’s just totally changed my work life and I love it and wanted to share. For a small business like me, time is in very short supply and Dubsado allows you to have a lot of things in one place. You can send questionnaires, contracts and invoices, schedule emails, book appointments and have it link to your other calendars and so much more. The team at Dubsado are always adding new features to improve the system. I’m much more organised, can see at a glance what work I’ve got booked in and can therefore plan my life a bit better. If you do want to take a look at Dubsado, they offer a three client non time restricted trial and if you use my code “whiterose” you will get 20% off.
Another thing I do to stay organised for work is to write a list. I plan my week out every week, breaking my workload down into what needs to be done on a day by day basis. This is really useful to me, especially in the school holidays or really busy weeks with weddings, as it helps me to see that not every task needs to be done in one day and stops me feeling overwhelmed (this happens a lot).

We use the Family Weekly Planner from Box Clever Press (available here) to help us stay organised as a family. It has handy columns for each of us so we can see at a glance what’s going on each week (usually not very much haha!). It also has shopping lists (handy for writing what we need on, then leaving on the table as Mr R is prone to doing) and a sheet of stickers which kept Holly occupied for a good hour or so sticking the birthdays etc onto the calendar.
To keep on top of housework I use the Organised Mum Method (see https://theorganisedmum.blog/). Basically you focus on one room/area a day for 30 minutes then you’re done! It’s bloody brilliant.
Do you have any other tips to share? xx
